♡ Black Dress ♡

You guys know that all I wear is black clothes. I should rename this blog, "black clothes by Tyler", but I'll stick to tytybowtie.

Kim Kardashian is my style spirit animal and this was definitely somewhat of a Kim Kardashian inspired look. I went to see her speak at the Castro Theatre, in San Francisco and I got the lovely chance of meeting her, and this was the outfit that I wore. I told her that I loved her and that her eyebrows looked amazing and she returned the favor. Best compliment ever! She did a book signing and I was able to receive a signed copy of her book Selfish. LaDoris Cordell, first African American female judge in North America, interviewed her with questions relating to body image, handling the media and various fashion and selfie tips. It was an amazing talk and I admire her even more now. If you missed it, you missed out!

Black During The Summer!

Black is my favorite color and I'm not going to let hot weather stop me from wearing it! Most people ask me how the heck I survive in the heat with all the black clothes... truth is.. I live in the Bay Area, so it doesn't even get super hot, and if Kim K can wear turtlenecks in the summer in Los Angeles, then I can wear black in the summer in the Bay Area.

Outfit Details:
The coat is actually a zip up dress, and one day I was taking the dress off and unzipped it and I was like, OMG I can wear this as a coat! I'll do a blog post on it as a dress!

The ripped jeans were just something to add a little bit of color but not too much!
American Eagle

The shirt is just a casual turtleneck that I was always throw on. It's comfortable and chic.
H&M

The shoes have a little but of sparkle on it. You can't really see it in the picture, but the parts going across my feet are little crystals/rhinestones, and it gives it that summery vibe.
Steve Madden

The wallet/purse was a last minute add. It has a wrist band so you can carry it like a purse
Rebecca Minkoff

I am trying out the aviator sunglasses look and I am starting to like it. I love to mirror/reflection vibe to it.

Best and Worst Dressed: Met Gala 2015

Hey Fashionistas! I know that we were all excited to see everyone on the red carpet with their extremely expensive designer avant-garde gowns!

Lets just say that I was impressed by few and disappointed by many. I'm going to show you my top least favorites and by top five overall favorites....so lets get started!

I'm going to start off with the worst dressed, so we can end on a happy note!

*E! News Online gets all the credit for these photos!*

5.
Lady Gaga, Mama Monster... I thought that this Balenciaga look was a bit costume-ish. I know that the Met Gala is a bit more avant-garde, but I thought that this was too much. It reminds me of the movie Maleficent starring Angelina Jolie. The Born This Way singer has recently gotten engaged, so maybe she's just a little distracted by her absolutely fabulous heart shaped diamond ring, that she couldn't really focus on the fashion.

4.
Graffiti-Perry... Oops I mean Katy Perry was wearing a Moschino gown that was covered in graffiti art. Don't get me wrong, I think graffiti is cool and edgy but not on a gown that you're wearing to a classy and glamorous event. The Teenage Dream singer made her debut with her new short hair cut, which was about the only thing fabulous about this look.

3.
Moschino was just on a role with designing these graffiti gowns. Madonna was wearing a Moschino graffiti gown as well, and to me this look just looks very cheap. It looks like she bought that dress at Macy's in the prom section and had one of her friends just spray paint some random words on there. Madonna, you are the queen of pop music, we know you can do better than this! Vogue!

2.
I'm not sure about you guys, but I was not a fan of Rihanna's gown, robe-ish thing. It was designed by Gui Pei, and it didn't do her justice. It looks like she just picked up a Persian rug and decided to wear it as a dress. The Umbrella singer, can do so much better that this! Ri-Ri is bomb dot com, and I feel like she should've gone with a Versace or Givenchy gown.

1.
Solange... What is this? She takes the cake on having the absolute worst dress at this years Met Gala. Does she need protection from possible revenge from Jay-Z after she beat him up in the elevator?, or is she traveling to space? I have no idea. This look was designed by Giles Deacon.

Disclaimer~ I have so much love and the up most respect for these women, these are just opinions based on their fashion choices, not them as a person. I will still be front row at all of these diva's concerts!

Best Dressed!

5.
J Lo always stuns in her beautiful gowns. She is a red carpet queen! She slayed us in Atelier Versace. Perfect choice Jenny from the Block! The red looks amazing with her bronzy skin and the detail on the beading were perfect placed on her body! The slicked back hair, and lack of excessive jewelry made it simple and elegant and let the dress speak for itself.

4.
Kendall Jenner looks amazing in this Calvin Klein dress. Kendall was rocking the Kardashian signature middle part with moderate makeup and no jewelry. No jewelry with an elaborate dress has been a current trend on red carpets lately. I'm really liking it! Great job Kendall!

3.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley slayed us in this elegant Versace gown. This is such a timeless yet vintage dress and she pulled it off so well. She has the perfect body to wear such a form fitting dress. The shoulder slighting touching the neck, adds such an elegant and feminine look, I just absolutely loved it!

2.
Kim Kardashian, you have once again amazed us all. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians reality star has a great reputation on the red carpet. This year she wore a Roberto Cavalli gown this year and she so amazing in it. A lot of people have compared her to Beyonce's 2012 Met Gala look, and whether or not she decided to copy the look, she pulled it off. She looks great and her body is amazing! Good job Kimmy!

1.
.......... speechless. Beyonce just leaves me speechless. I can go on and on about why and how much I love this dress, but I'll keep it short because I'm sure you guys aren't interested in reading a novel. This Givenchy gown showed up almost everyone on this red carpet event. The beading was strategically placed so that you could see every part of her body, except for the parts that shouldn't be showing..if you know what I mean. Her body looks better than ever and she deserves to show it off! The high pony tail gave the overall look a flirty and girly feel to it. I wish that I could 'wake up like that'.

Book Review || A Deadly Wandering: A Tale of Tragedy and Redemption in the Age of Attention

*Hello my fashionistas! This post is for my class, so just disregard this post. I'll delete it, once its graded!* xoxo!

A Deadly Wandering: A Tale of Tragedy and Redemption in the Age of Attention by Matt Richtel was  a book about a 19-year-old student, Reggie Shaw from Utah, who killed two scientists in a car accident while he was texting and driving. The car jumped the divider and hit another car that caused the accident. The driver had no idea what had happened, and his phone records had showed that he was texting at the time that the accident occurred.

The whole book is a story that takes us through the incident, the whole process of his court process and his redemption.

Even though it was proven that he was indeed texting while driving, he received no time in jail and got community service, and was gave talks to the community about the dangers of texting and driving.

Richtel did a great job with adding the perspectives of the victims families, the police investigators, and everyone that was helping Shaw advocate against texting and driving.

Richtel argues that texting and driving could be just as dangerous as drunk driving. Let me give you a couple of statistics about drunk driving provided by textinganddrivingsafety.com and edgarsnyder.com

  • In 2011, 23 percent of all auto collisions involved a cell phone that is 1 in every 4 car accidents.
  • 5 seconds is the amount of time that your attention is taken away from the road when you are driving.
  • Texting while driving makes an accident 23 more times likely to happen.
  • 82 percent of Americans between the ages of 16 and 17 own a cell phone and 52 percent of them admitted to talking on the phone while driving. 32 percent say that they have texting while driving.
  • Approx. 60,000 drivers attempt to use their cell phones while driving.
  • You are 6 times more likely to be an accident while texting than while drunk.
  • 11 teens die everyday as a result of texting while driving
  • Teen drivers are 4 times more likely than adults to get into accidents or near crashes caused by the use of a cell phone.

I think this book was great because it opens a lot of eyes to people in this society to take texting and driving seriously. A lot of people think that they are immune to getting in an accident if they text and drive because they assume that they “know what they are doing,” but it could happen to anyone. Richtel shared a compelling story that we could all learn from, and he did a great job with breaking down everything to tell us a story about Reggie Shaw, and giving us realistic situation to learn from.

A little CK

A little Calvin never hurt anyone! I found these bad boys at DSW for $79.95! What a bargain for Calvin! They are in store only, so go to your local DSW and check them out! They're very comfortable and you can dress them up or down!

Today's Pickups! || Miniature Haul!

Today I went shopping and just picked up a few items!
First I got two Charlie Crew pullovers (knit/thermal sweaters) from Cotton On. They were on sale for $15 so I decided to get two -- one white and one grey! They didn't have black, or else I most likely would've gotten a black one too!
Black is my favorite, in case you didn't know!
Spring is beginning here in San Francisco, but it's still a bit chilly, and these sweaters are thin enough to where I won't be hot, but thick enough that I won't be cold. Pair this with a pair of some ripped jeans, or just any simple black skinny pant/jeans and you'll be good to go!

Then I went to H&M, and found these really cute
booties. They were $34.95, and I thought that
was a great deal! They're super comfy, and they
would go perfect with the knit sweaters and a
simple pair of ripped jeans or black skinnies.
